Lovage (Levi-sticum officinale)

Lovage is a strongly and aromatically scented perennial plant. Its leaves are dark green, glossy and divided into several or more parts, and the small yellow-green flowers are gathered in large umbels. In the wild, it is found in mountain meadows, but is mainly obtained from cultivation. It is native to western Asia, but is now popular throughout Europe. It flowers in July and August .
Lovage has antispasmodic and anti-atherosclerotic properties, delays the ageing process, stimulates the digestive tract, aids digestion and is anti-bacterial.
